LOROS Hospice Big Day Out, Leicester

We have been invited to support LOROS Hospice's Big Day Out and this year it's grown to 2 days and promises to be something truly special. Alongside the family fun days, visitors will have their last chance to see the 40 giant Elephants and 82 Baby Elephants from the Stomp Round Leicester trail, all gathered together for a spectacular final farewell.

Expect a fantastic mix of outdoor activities, food and craft stalls, carnival games, face painting, glitter tattoos, and the chance to meet some of the artists behind the sculptures. Official Stomp Round Leicester merchandise will also be available

This celebration isn't just about the fun, it's also an opportunity to learn more about how LOROS cares for patients and their families. Hospice tours will be running during the event, offering a chance to see first-hand how vital support makes a world of difference to services and facilities.

The herd of Elephants carries a deeper meaning too: many of the sculptures reflect the services LOROS offers. You might be surprised to discover they run mindfulness sessions for patients, employ a specialised children's counsellor and even take beds out into the gardens so patients can enjoy the sunshine and birdsong. The day is about sharing these stories, sparking conversations, and bringing people together.

The times given are the times we will be on site at the event but unfortunately this doesn't necessarily mean we will be available to meet you throughout the whole of this period. With all our events, we cannot guarantee what costumers will be available to attend as we are all volunteers who do this in our spare time so it is always on a 'best endeavours' basis.

Cancellations

Unfortunately, sometimes our attendance at an event is cancelled. This is infrequent but can happen for a variety of reasons including the event itself being cancelled or rescheduled by the organiser, inclement weather, costumers that are within the locale of that event being unavailable or ill. We recommend that you check back regularly with this calendar to ensure our attendance at a particular event is still scheduled.
